Duchess has a minor skin infection at the bottom of her wound. We are taking her in to the local vet to get some antibiotics before it gets worse. Minor seepage no dripping. Itâs the spot she lays on & she does lick at her shirts there so we think this is the cause. She also has extremely sensitive skin and it being directly in a staple makes me think there are a few factors here. Because I work and live 45mins away, I didnât know this was happening until today when I was finally able to come see her, thankfully I know enough to know that that isnât looking great. Rest of her incision is impeccable which further shows me this is just a localized issue. Staples come out Wednesday so we wanna nip this in the butt beforehand.

OUCH! Getting those staples out, especially the ones in the sore area, will feel soooo much better!!
Good job of staying on top of this. And yes, other than that “sore spot”, the incision looks really good.
Stitch removal day require a drive thru cheeseburger on the way home!

I wish I could go with her but I work in Waterdown from 10-6, I wish I could show her off to all the staff that loved on her so much. Her progress is incredible. Literally when I called today to ask their opinion on whether we should get antibiotics before the weekend or wait it out the front desk girl does âOHMYGOD YES DUCHESS HOW IS SHEâ when I introduced myself and her as their patient lol.
Waterdown being over an hr from the hospital where she had surgery and is going for staple removal. Sorry I forget this is online world and people reading could be from anywhere
